As the fall approaches I would encourage you to talk to your children about wearing appropriate clothing for the outdoor temperatures. If we ever needed to evacuate the building it is important to be dressed for the weather. Winter will be here before we know it. We will be kicking off two fundraisers in the next couple of weeks. The first is our annual Magazine Drive and the other is our Annual Book Sale. These fundraisers support our students by purchasing items we do not have in our budget. Below is some information about the next few weeks.
MMS Leadership Team Applications –
Messalonskee Middle School has a Leadership Team that meets weekly from 2:50-4:00 on Thursdays. This committee has teachers, guidance staff, administrators, students and parents in it’s composition. We are looking for interested parents to apply to take part in our team. Applications can be found on our website and they need to be filled out and turned into the office by September 24. The leadership team will then select up to 4 parents to share the position. The leadership team will make that decision at their October 2 meeting. If you are interested, please submit an application.
Middle Road Closure –
September 17th & 18th the Middle Road will have a section closed so that DOT can fix a broken pipe. Be aware that there will be a detour and that your morning and evening travel times may be increased if you drive this road to get home or drop your child off at school.
MMS Fun Night –
Our first fun night is this Friday. We host a fun night most months. Students from grades 6-8 are able to attend. We open the gym, have dancing in the cafeteria and there are snacks for sale. All proceeds for the fun night go to the organization that is putting on the night. This week the fun night is sponsored by the student leadership team. Tickets will be on sale before school starting Wednesday. The cost is $5.
